It appears that Bush will nominate Edith Clement of the 5th Circuit.
But I've screwed up too many stories on Supreme Court Justices lately to believe anything until I actually see it happen.

For the record, the stress is on the first syllable. Pronounce it CLE-ment, not cle-MENT. I don't want another round of the senate confirmation pronunciation wars like we had over whether Clarence Thomas committed sexual HARRIS-ment or her-ASS-ment.
From what I know about Clement, I think she's about as good a judge as we could possibly get from Bush. That's not saying much, but it's saying something.
